John Summers

John joined The Hardy Group in 2012 as a Project Manager and has since supported a range of projects across the firm’s portfolio, most notably the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort in Marco Island, Florida, one of the firm’s longest-standing client relationships. The Hardy Group has been continuously engaged with the resort since 1999, and John has played a key role in managing many of the property’s most significant renovations, restorations, and operational improvements over the past decade.

With a deep understanding of the resort and its operations, John has been instrumental in coordinating complex renovation programs, managing large consultant and contractor teams, and guiding the property through both planned upgrades and major storm recovery efforts.

• Hurricane preparation for Helene and Milton
• Clubhouse renovation at Hammock Bay Golf Course
• Clubhouse and turf renovation at Rookery Bay Golf Course
• Two full guestroom renovations
• Tiki Bar on the Beach
• Pazzi’s Restaurant renovation
• Hurricane Irma restorations
• Spa and Palms Ballroom renovation
• Newly constructed Lanai Tower Suites, including an entertainment center, room completions, administration office, and fitness center
• 90-day full building closure and renovation in 2015

Beyond Marco Island, John has also contributed to several major hospitality projects with the HARDY team, including the water park development at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón, waterpark and pool renovations at Grande Lakes Orlando, the reopening of The Ritz-Carlton, Naples following Hurricane Ian, and the renovation of 950 guestrooms, lobby, atrium, and restaurant at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.

Prior to joining The Hardy Group, John was the owner and operator of Medpro Construction, Inc., where he managed subcontractors for commercial and residential projects. He previously served as Vice President of Chappell Summers & Associates, Inc., a real estate management company, where he oversaw daily operations, financial analysis, and contractor management, while also supporting their subsidiary construction company, CS&A Construction, Inc.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Real Estate from Georgia State University. He also served as a Land Surveyor for both the United States Army and the South Carolina / Georgia National Guard.
