Senior Project Director

Shawn May has joined The Hardy Group as a Senior Project Director for the ambitious Highgate Program. Shawn will join the New York City team, leveraging over 25 years of expertise in real estate development, project management, and architecture. With a proven track record, Shawn excels in guiding companies through every phase of projects, from inception to completion, encompassing new constructions, renovations, and interior fit-outs. His experience spans domestic and international arenas, actively contributing to project design and hands-on construction management. Shawn’s adeptness in strategic planning, team leadership, client relations, and quality assurance.

Shawn has served in a variety of roles holding the title of Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Owner’s Representative, Associate Facilities Systems Development, Draftsman, and Space Analyst. He has worked for notable companies including JBS Project Management/CHA Companies, Cummings Group, Sunstone Hotel Investors, Hospitality CPM, TAG Consultants, Bayrock/Sapir Organization, Brennan Beer Gorman, Mancini Duffy, and The Rockefeller University.

In his previous roles, Shawn has worked on many remarkable hospitality projects including the Renovation of the Embassy Suites and Hilton Resort Myrtle Beach which included a new build Brewhouse/event space as well as new pools and a water park, guestroom renovation at Marriott Long Wharf Boston, ground up construction at The Dominick Hotel in New York City, guestroom and public space renovation at the Lexington Hotel in New York City, New Build project at the 42nd street Hilton Garden Inn in New York City, renovation of the W Union Square New York City, and repositioning and renovation of the Boston Park Plaza which included public spaces, meeting space, ballroom, retail, and guestrooms. Internationally, Shawn has worked on ground up construction at Centara Grand at Central World in Bangkok, Thailand, served as the Project Manager during design for the Shangri-la Futian in China, and renovation of the public space at Swissotel The Stamford in Singapore.

Shawn received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with a minor in Graphic Design/Illustration from The University of Miami. Additionally, he formerly held an Architecture license in New York and New Jersey.
